How to make Honey Garlic Chicken
Even though the recipe calls for boney chicken thighs, I used chicken breasts instead because that's what I had on hand.
I chose to serve my chicken over brown rice. I also steamed broccoli to add in a little green for my boyfriend.
Original recipe can be found here.
HONEY GARLIC CHICKEN
PREP
5 MINS
COOK
15 MINS
TOTAL
20 MINS
SERVINGS: 4

Ingredients
- 8 chicken thighs (skinless and boneless)
- 2tbsp cornstarch
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp pepper
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
- 1 tbsp unsalted butter
- 4 cloves minced garlic
- 1/3 cup honey
- 1/3 chicken stock
- 1 tbsp rice vinegar
- 1 tbsp light soy sauce
- 1 tbsp finely chopped fresh parley
- 1/2 tsp chili flakes
- boiled rice
Instructions
- Cut up chicken into bite sized pieces.
- Please chicken in a bowl. Add seasonings and cornstarch. Toss chicken until fully coated.
- Heat oil in large skillet over high heat.
- Add in the chicken and cook on one side until golden brown (about 4-5 minutes). Flip chicken and cook for another 2 minutes.
- Add butter to the pan and let it melt. Then add in garlic and stir. Turn down heat to medium so the garlic doesn't burn.
- Next make the sauce. Combine the honey, chicken stock, rice vinegar, and soy sauce in a bowl and stir,
- Add sauce to skillet. Turn up the heat and bring to a boil. Once at a boil, reduce hit and allow sauce to simmer until sauce reduces and thickens (about 4-5 minutes). Add the chicken and make sure it is cooked through and is no longer pink in the middle. (I cooked my chicken all the way when I put it in the pan in step 4).
- Sprinkle the chopped parsely and chili flakes. Serve over boiled rice.

Overall, I really enjoyed the taste of the chicken in this honey garlic chicken recipe. I would definitely make this again.
