Georgia residents now have a way to earn in demand Google certifications without paying a dime. Through a new partnership between Google and the Georgia Public Library Service (GPLS), anyone with a Georgia public library card can access Google Career Certificates and the Google AI Professional Certificate at no cost. What Is the Georgia Public Library Service and Google Partnership
Georgia Public Library Service announced the initiative in the summer of 2026 to help residents build essential job skills in high growth fields like AI, data analytics, cybersecurity, and project management. The courses are normally hosted on Coursera and typically require a paid subscription, but GPLS is covering the cost for Georgia library cardholders so training that would otherwise cost real money is fully free.
State Librarian Julie Walker described the goal as taking Georgians "beyond the digital divide and into digital leadership," while Google's Grow with Google founder Lisa Gevelber called the partnership a way to give people flexible, accessible pathways to learn skills needed for today's jobs.

- Watch your inbox, including your spam folder, for a confirmation email from Coursera. Invitations go out daily, Monday through Friday.

Licenses are issued for up to six months at a time, so you can study on your own schedule. If your account sits idle for more than 30 days, your license may be revoked, though any progress you already made will be saved and you can request access again.
Common Signup Issues to Watch For
A few details trip people up. If you search Coursera directly and enroll in a course before receiving your official invitation, you may be prompted to start a paid trial. Stick to the curated list of free courses on the Grow with Google page to avoid charges. Each participant also needs their own individual email address, since GPLS cannot issue multiple invitations to a single inbox. If you see an error message about not having access to certain content, it usually means you signed up outside the approved course list or skipped the email invite link.
